Why I am no longer going to associate with wrasslin' crap.

The Friday before last, I went to the NWA-Southwest/World of Wrestling show at the Cypress VFW Hall, like I usually do. One of the best workers in Houston is this guy Quincy that wears a mask and wrestles as Mysterious Q. There was another show going on in Pearland that night and Q wanted to work both. He was told that he was no longer welcomed at WOW because he didn’t make them his #1 priority. That really sucks because I like seeing him work with people they bring in from Austin and San Antonio. Also the fact that the owner put himself in the Championship match instead of Q really rubbed me the wrong way.

This Saturday I went to the IWE show at the Armadillo Flea Market. My friend Paul does the flyers so he gets in for free. We stopped into a store and got some streamers to throw in for Q to show him his respect. It looked nice and Q appreciated it. The promoter gets onto the mic DURING the match and tells the very small crowd that they will be thrown out and banned from future shows if they throw any more streamers, knowing that my friend Paul brought them in. The promoter came over and lectured him and really killed a lot of the fun. A few minutes later, this wrestler named “The Pride” Chris Adams came out and spit on us. The promoter didn’t say shit to him about it. Paul went to talk to the promoter about the issues and was basically thrown out.

The next night was the WWE TLC PPV. I paid $240 for 2 tickets back in July for this show and I was really looking forward to it.. I was on camera most of the show from what I’ve heard, but WWE didn’t like my friend Aaron’s signs. When Nexus came out, he held up a “Cena Sux” sign and they came and took it away. When Rey Mysterio came out, he held up his “Over Rey-Ted” sign and they came to take that away, too. They looked at our signs before we went in, and they were fine. I guess because we were on camera and you could read the anti-babyface signs, they weren’t allowed. They also had “seat holders” who they placed in the empty seats so that it wouldn’t look like the show wasn’t a sell out on PPV. I complained about the seat holder who wouldn’t sit down and no one did anything about it. I paid $240 for my tickets and this asshole gets in for free and gets to block my view the entire show? Bullshit!

Now the cherry on top of all of it was that the last match of the night wasn’t the WWE Championship match, World Title match, or Tag title match. The “Main Event” was Cena vs Wade Barret of Nexus. Cena squashed Barret and all of the little children were happy. I was not.

I’m going to save a lot of money now that I’m not going to go to any shows or buy any merch. I’m just kind of at a loss as to what I’m going to focus my hobby energy on now. :-/
